Visitors to the supermarket, located at 164 Rzhanova St. in the Solnechnyi borough in Irkutsk, as well as Irkutsk citizens in general, can now help protect the environment by bringing empty plastic bottles directly to the store, which will later send them for recycling.

As the General Director of the BAIKALSEA Company, Ruslan Kokovin, notes, “this environmental initiative, which we are implementing together with the Slata supermarket chain, is another step in the work aimed at conserving the nature of Lake Baikal. Environmental campaigns from the BAIKALSEA Company, such as the annual cleaning of the Baikal coast, which includes organising collection points for empty plastic bottles from our customers, which are exchanged for special gifts and bonuses, are part of the company's general environmental policy. We advocate compliance with environmental laws and encourage everyone to behave in an environmentally responsible manner. ”

Both companies are developing eco-programmes and initiatives to reduce the impact on nature, as well as introducing eco-education projects to encourage more people to engage in responsible consumption.

“Our company is happy to support all green projects. For 8 years we have been working with the "Give Life to the Planet" charitable foundation. We see that more and more children and young people, as well as the older generation, are getting involved. And we hope that consumers and residents of Irkutsk will use and appreciate the opportunity to collect plastic bottles provided by the BAIKALSEA Company ”, said Yana Abalymova , Head of Public Relations Department of the Slata Supermarkets.

The vending machine accepts clean plastic water and beverage bottles of up to 2 litres. To return a PET bottle, you just need to follow the instructions on the machine’s screen. Additional points will be awarded to FreshCard holders for each bottle handed over. Details of the vending machine's operating rules can be found on a special page: https://eco.irkvoda.ru
